Project Description
Diagnostic ultrasound is a non-invasive treatment which is used to diagnose and monitor treatment progression. For a diagnosis, ultrasonic gel is applied to the injured area of the skin and a probe is used to transmit sound waves directly through the gel. The waves are computerised, forming an instant picture which determines the problem. This technique is especially beneficial in identifying swelling, muscle tears, fractures, bursitis, arthritis, ligament and cartilage injuries.
